This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Nothing is quite as irresistible to a little artist as a fresh glob of finger paint on a big sheet of glossy paper.

I was never a big believer in finger paint until another teacher gave me a couple old jars she had in her closet. Watching the kindergartners with the gooey stuff changed my mind completely. Now we need more!

Finger painting is the up close and "OK to touch" experience they crave. A swish of blue and a swish of red and they've made purple! A wiggle of the finger and they've created a zigzag line, a swipe of the hand and it disappears! Finger paint is an important teacher in the early elementary art classroom.
