My Students
Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I talk about my students more than anything. I just can't help it. They're constantly on my mind and in my heart. My students come to school daily with smiles, handshakes, high fives, and hugs ready for me. They come in ready to tell me all about their football game on Saturday, how much they read over the weekend, or where they got to go with their family. They are the lights of my life and I am SO blessed to be their teacher.
I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
My students all come from different backgrounds and environments. The majority of my students often come to school lacking the supplies that they need to work successfully. It is my goal to provide them with love, as well as they tools they need to succeed.
My Project
My students need morning choice items such as math flashcards, building blocks, board games, and geoboards to engage them first thing in the morning. This will be so much better than traditional morning work and also will teach students other important social skills.
My students will have time every morning to engage with the materials of their choice to further their interests while developing important skills like team work, critical thinking, and communication.
These activities will enable us to start each day off engaged and excited about learning. I know how amazing this could be for my students and would appreciate any help to make sure we reach this goal!
