This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help me create a warm space for students to enter each morning.

This cozy addition will provide a comfortable space for students to gather, read, and learn together.

Students flock to rugs to spread out and work in groups during hard days of learning, but right now, we don't have one! Your support will enhance our classroom environment, making it a welcoming place where students can engage in their love for reading and collaborative activities. The rug will make it possible to do simple group or individual activities while keeping our bodies safe and comfortable.

Sometimes, students are late to school for reasons out of their control. This can mean missing breakfast, which makes it impossible to learn! The quick breakfast bars in this project can help fill the gaps for students feeling hungry.

This is a space where we will have our morning meetings to share our ideas and fill our 'buckets'. The books listed in this project will help us to practice compassion with each other and ourselves.

Each week, we write appreciation notes to other students in our class. Students use their binders to collect these notes if they choose, so they can look at them during a hard day. They can also keep work that they are proud of in the binders to share out at morning meetings.

All of these items seek to soften the mornings and strengthen student bonds with each other! Thank you for supporting a strong community in our room.
