Help me give my students a Gift Card to Celebrate their Achievements both Academically and Personally through this 2nd year of Pandemic Learning via PBIS Rewards.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
At-Home Learning through e-Classrooms and a Virtual Google Meets 90 mins each class all day. It has hit these young students, and me quite a bit differently than others dealing with COVID 19. As I approach the 2nd Semester of Distant Virtual at Home Learning and Working at a G.L.O.B.A.L. school, I need to provide these young developing minds with all the resources they should have. Unfortunately, they still do not have full access, with testing just around the corner.
My students are 99% English language learners and all receive Free lunch.
They took there exams in their 1st language and now everything is in English and they are struggling readers that are compassionate and caring. Just issuing each a personal copy of Hidden Figures from another project had their eyes illuminated with excitement.
They are remaining at home to ensure their safety and longevity of life while trying to be educated through this pandemic at a crucial year of life 7th-grade. The Summer Programs for the district offered so much for the students, yet there has been zero support at all for the materials to be available to the students at home and allow them to achieve the same level.
My Project
In the midst of my 1st pandemic, it is hard to say what would and would not work on my new campus. But I knew of two iron-clad Behavior Systems that work 100% fail-proof in building a STRONG Class Culture. My project is to specifically reward student's Choices and Right Action in their first-ever Pandemic and Virtual Learning experience. This project is the culminating end to my merger of Restorative Circles and Positive Behavioral Intervention System.
I would like to provide gift cards for each student that exemplified Excellence in Character, Self-Discipline, and Hard-work; PBIS rewards will be spent by the students at nearby locations selected by them as we created our Respect Agreements and Incentives at the start of the year.
This is just a small token of appreciation and inspiration to help them maintain the Character displayed throughout this most difficult year. It is to add continued motivation of Right Actions as we are nearing state testing and the end of the school year. I want this to also speak to their subconscious and understand that Good does NOT ALWAYS finish Last! Your donations and support can make this project a reality for my scholars.
