My Students

My wonderful students come from very diverse backgrounds. What they have in common is a desire to succeed. They are very creative and kind. They always try to do the best that they can.

They need the encouragement to continue to do well.

Sometimes, it is hard for them to be so cheerful. Many come from difficult backgrounds and families. They do their best to put on a happy face each day but for some, even that is too difficult.

My Project

Through reading, Spanish language learners are able to vastly improve their vocabulary. Since there are so many cognates between Spanish and English, the students will recognize many more words which they will then be able understand.

It Is so important for beginning Spanish learners to read!

The more they read, the more their imagination soars. These great readers also show the culture of the country they are written about. What a great way for our students to make connections with others through the understanding of their culture and their point of view. It is important for our students to understand that everyone has their own voice.
