My Project

My students really enjoy being at school. They are our youngest scholars on campus and enjoy learning about the world and community around them. I want them to learn how to be respectful, make good choices, and maintain respectful relationships in the classroom.

The items in this project will be used as incentives for our student store.

Students will be awarded class dollars or tickets for making good choices and showing respectful and productive behavior in the classroom and throughout the school campus. Through the student store, students will get real-world applications for counting, comparing, and addition and subtraction. Students will have to count their money and calculate how much they will need to purchase the incentives from the store. Kindergarteners will meet many math standards in a real-world meaningful way. Students will have the opportunity to participate as the merchant and the customer.

The Math activities in sorting and counting will be used as a reward incentive for productive behavior in Math and will help with one-to-one correspondence counting which is a required skill for running the student store.
