My Project

We are a large, urban, Title I public school. Our school is comprised of students from over forty different countries and features gender-specific classrooms to maximize gender-based learning and teaching strategies.

We embrace our school diversity and strive to learn about other countries' cultures, traditions, and holidays in our social studies curriculum.

Unfortunately, our classroom has no available whiteboards or chalkboards except for one small whiteboard easel on which we may write facts and display anchor charts. This limits our ability to keep information up for the duration of a several-session lesson on countries, especially China and the upcoming Lunar New Year. Help us secure a rolling whiteboard so we may display facts and anchor charts about countries we are learning about without having to erase info to record information from a different lesson (like math or ELA) only to have to rewrite the country info/facts to review when continuing the lesson later.

We would also like engaging decorations and learning materials about Lunar New Year to enhance our lessons about the holiday. Thank you for helping my Kinders learn about Lunar New Year with these amazing resources!
