My Students

There is a greater need to emphasize how to help our earth from the harmful effects of human technology by using alternative forms of renewable energy. The Environment Studies Unit is taught in both curriculum where students need to understand how human impact can affect Earth’s natural resources.

I teach 8th grade Earth Science to the advanced students and General Science to the remaining population in a suburban school.

One of the General Science classes is a class where there are special education students that make up for half the class as well as a second teacher in the room that I collaborate with.

My Project

A windmill demonstrator would allow my students to see how wind energy can be converted into electrical energy. A Horizon Bio-Energy kit will allow students to see how using ethanol is an alternative to fossil fuels in producing electricity. A Horizon Solar Hydrogen Kit would allow students to invent their own clean energy applications by using hydrogen and solar power technology.

I believe it is very important for students to understand how humans have negatively impacted the earth.

By showing them they can make the correct choices in energy sources can positively affect the earth's future.
