My Project
The use of computers has become prevalent in competitive debate. It is rare to see a debate program where each debater is not using a laptop. The use of Chromebooks has become prevalent in schools. These machines simply do not do everything a student needs to be on a level playing field in speech and debate.
Students need access to new and functional technology to compete in speech and debate.
Our new team has been using school Chromebooks, but it is time to go beyond the surface to increase their engagement and ultimately - their success.
Through debate, students not only conquer one of the top fears - public speaking, they also learn research, critical thinking, leaders, collaboration, and civic engagement. As they continue they improve their self esteem and build lifelong friendships with their team.
We are hoping to begin adding Windows laptops such as this one to our collection as we progress through the year.
