This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work at a title one school where all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. After eight years of teaching in 3rd and 5th grade, I'm going back to teach Kindergarten for the 24-25 school year! I taught Kinder many years ago, and am excited to be going back!
I am looking to get funded some essential items for the classroom to help my students be successful and feel welcomed in their new classroom environment!
Most of our students have never been in any type of school setting, not even preschool! Making a classroom that is organized, inviting, and bright is importing! I have chosen some new bulletin borders, paper, and name tags for this reason! I have chosen a new pencil sharpener and two different types of Ticonderoga pencils for young writers! These pencils help to build the fine motor skills of young students. I chose the marker boards to help my students from losing the caps to markers when we use them. I am also asking for funding for gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers so that I may purchase small group activities that will focus on math and literacy skills for young learners.
