My Students
My class consists of 10 children with severe disabilities from Kindergarten to 3rd Grade. They are special angels with different kinds of needs. They are place into Self-contained SH class with different types of disabilities such as Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Multiple Disabilities and Chronic Health Impairments. They’re ages are from 5-9 years old and who are so energetic and very hyperactive.
They are the sweetest kids in the world!
They deserve to be given attention, care and concern that they need. They are special kids with special needs, too!
Despite of their severe cases, my students are very determine to learn. At the young age they are showing positive outlook in life who are aiming to become independent. They are trying their best to do things on their own and showing to everyone that they can become less dependent to other people in terms of their basic needs.
It is also such a remarkable development for the SH students to gain a lot of academic achievement in academic subjects such as English and Math. They are giving their best to strive higher in our day-to-day lessons. They are doing every thing that they can to improve their weaknesses.
My Project
The primary goal for students in the Self-Contained SH Class is to make the students functional and independent individual that are prepared to provide all of his/her personal needs with a little assistance from other persons. All of these item that we are asking for you hep are all classroom basic needs that we are using on our day-to-day school activities including the Fun,Fun, Friday cooking activity.
Our classroom oven was broken and we really need that in our cooking activity.
We also need some utensils and plates that are consumable and disposable every time they are doing their cooking procedure individually. The students are very happy and motivated, and always looking forward for Fridays because of our cooking time. And of course, this is really beneficial to the students as they are learning to prepare their own food or meal with minimum assistance from adults
Preparing the students to become more independent is very important. This is the reason why we are having TEACCH program and independent workstations during our everyday schedule. The kids are trying to give their best to do the activities provided for them as related to their IEP Goals and daily lessons in English and Mathematics with minimal guidance from the staff. The bins and the organizers that we are requesting are gonna be using to every students individual workstations. With these bins and organizers the students will learn also to independently get their task as I will provide their names on those bins.
Achieving the goals for every students are essential as the IEP Team are very focus on assisting the students on their journey in developing themselves. The classroom supplies and learning materials that we are asking from you are necessary in aiming for their development and goal achievements.
