My students need 16 recycle bins and a multi-use handtruck.
FULLY FUNDED! Dr. Davakos's classroom raised $403
This project is fully funded
I teach 16 first grade students who come from a very high-needs community. 80% of our students at school are in our free or reduced lunch program. Even though the majority of our students come from poverty, most are motivated to help themselves and their community.
My school currently does not have a recycling program, and we throw all of our recyclables in the trash everyday! Also, my students do not have the option of curb-side recycling pick-up at their homes! Many did not even know what it means to recycle and why it will help their environment and community. We need help in getting funds to start our recycling club here at school.
When learning about what recycling is and can mean for their community, my students wanted to help out and get a program started at school, since they did not have a way to recycle at home. We want to GO GREEN and need your help!
Our recycling club would need 16 recycling containers to put into 16 classrooms. Also, the members would need a hand-truck to take around to pick up the recyclables to be dumped in the outside community recycling container.
With your help, you will be empowering my student to take the initiative to start programs that will help their environment, communities and themselves! They will be better citizens and also have a greater sense of worth for starting and completing a project of this magnitude!
