This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will help students engage in high interest reading about this year's summer olympics in Paris. Not only are my students so interested in the summer olympics and the amazing athletic abilities of all the athletes, but many of my students can relate to the athletes on a personal level. For example, some of my students are in foster care, just like the most decorated female olympian gymnast, Simone Biles, was as a young child. Most of my students come from single parent household, most living with only their mother's, just like gold medalist, LeBron James.
This project will inspire my students to harness their talents, work hard, and that even with the odds stacked against them, they can be successful, as Simone Biles once said.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
