My students need the book "Bullying in Schools" and "Diary of a Wimpy Kid", plus a laptop computer to research Internet sites on bullying to present to the class.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Bullying has become a big problem in our nation's schools. I would like to address and eliminate this devastating problem facing our students.
My students come from a mostly lower socioeconomic demographic, and many do not speak English at home.
Our school does its best to inspire the kids and bring the curriculum to life. But the challenges of limited budgets and language barriers make that mission difficult.
My Project
My students need additional books on the topic of bullying, such as Bullying in Schools and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid, plus a laptop computer to research Internet sites on bullying to present to students. The anti-bullying books will inform my students. The additional netbook will be used to independently show on-line videos on bullying that will help teach my students about what bullying is, what it looks and feels like, and what they need to do to be safe. My students will also be able to create and show their own presentations against bullying using this laptop.
It is important for my students to know the elements of bullying and how to prevent it.
Providing access to computer technology will increase students' opportunities for success by allowing them to create and present their own anti-bullying messages. This project will also provide online access to anti-bullying resources.
