This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I just had a project funded for my classroom that included a Cricut maker and a few blades to go with it.

I need a storage case for the machine, sheets of balsa wood, a scoring wheel, a variety of glue, and sticky mats for cutting wood, fabric and paper so that my students can create projects for STEAM and so that I can create manipulatives for them for math, science, and reading.

For example, when we start our geometry unit in math, I will use the materials to create 3d foldables for the students so that they can learn about the angles, sides, and vertices of a shape in a hands on way-this is where the scoring wheel will come in handy. Another example of how I would use these materials is to create shapes out of wood that represent the water cycle, so that my students can create a physical model of it instead of just writing about it and drawing it on paper.
