This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten should be a place of colorful learning, crafts and discovery. However, with the severe state budget cuts we are now facing, this will only be possible with your help.

The diverse, urban students at my school are predominately English language learners who live below the poverty line and have not attended preschool.

Our school is located in the most crime ridden neighborhood in our city. This year our school has a wonderful opportunity to give our incoming kindergarten students an introduction to school and their new classrooms in a four week summer program in June. You can provide an entire calendar year of positive school experiences to these children!

My Project

The materials in this grant include a year long supply of glue sticks and bottles, craft sticks, feathers, and pencils for use across the curriculum. My students will use these materials each and every day in a variety of subjects and activities. These materials will allow my students to create exciting, engaging projects and bring learning to life.

You can make kindergarten the wonderful, enriching place that it should be in my classroom.
