I work in a highly diverse and low income neighborhood with very curious student population who will take great advantage of having a Glowforge.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Students will learn how to use the graphic design process to create 3D digital art projects. Learn how to transform simple shapes into multiple designs to create custom artwork that will be aligned with social-emotional lessons and community building activities. We will also use the Glowforge to provide students with religious life skills that they can carry on in the future.
This project will also support our high population of Students with Disabilities to create gadgets/ fidgets to help them get a better education, allow them to create projects with the Glowforge to assist in their education and provide extra tools for learning disabilities amongst the community.
This includes exploring how STEM impacts other areas of life such as history, civics, the arts, anti-bullying, and social and emotional well-being.
With a very high EL rate and low socioeconomic student population, lab experience and hands-on learning are excellent ways to enrich our students' education and serve as motivation. There are endless possibilities for them to thrive. This will allow for a diverse and fun learning environment that will spark the interest of ALL of our students.
