My Students

Hello! Thank you for visiting my DonorsChoose.org page. I have the most amazing and wonderful sixth grade students that love to learn science. My students are very diverse and have varying needs, however, the one common factor is the importance to interact collaboratively with technology. They greet every learning experience with enthusiasm and creativity.

My students are kind, hard workers, beginning scientists, and have a passion to learn!

Our school does not qualify for Title 1 funding, and with our current demographic mix, we are on the lower end of assistance from the state and county. We often use our own funds to ensure our students receive the tools they need to succeed. Any assistance you provide would be greatly appreciated.

My Project

The "Glow STEM Lab Party" will help my students understand how scientists work through scientific inquiry. By using glow sticks and black lights, students will answer the questions, "Why does a glow stick glow?" and "Does temperature affect the brightness of liquid light?" Students understanding scientific inquiry is the foundation of future science labs and activities.

Fun, hands-on scientific inquiry fuels my scientists to the next level of learning!

Students will create an investigation to answer the questions as well as demonstrate their learning through investigation, research, kinesthetic activities, art, models, and writing.
