My Students
I teach in a township school of Indianapolis, IN. Many of my students are living in poverty and rely on school to take their mind off of the home situations that are out of their control. Our school does not have any funding for the classroom to help with student success. This specific Adaptive PE class is approximately 30 students who have some type of adaptive needs. Many students are confined to a wheelchair or need modifications in the activity.
My Project
This project of Glow in the Dark athletic balls will give the students a different way of playing lifelong sports. Every year we play a variety of games in football, volleyball, and soccer as well as others. The glow in the dark balls will make the games enjoyable and give a new fun spin on a traditional game. Students always like trying new games and activities and the glow in the dark balls will give them ideas of games they can play outside of the class as well. Students will realize you can play games at night not just during sun hours!
