My students need various seeds and plants, pots, potting soil and a watering greenhouse.

This project is fully funded

I teach in a rural classroom in Indiana. Another teacher and I team teach 30 second grade students. We love to work with plants. Part of the second grade academic standards is to learn about the growth process of plants. We love giving the students hands-on experiences. I am asking for various plants, soil, and pots.

Our school district does not dedicate large amounts of the budget to hands-on projects. If we want to teach with materials like plants then we have to purchase them on our own. I have and will continue purchasing materials for my classroom, but I am not able to purchase everything that I need and want.

I have written and received a grant for a greenhouse. We want to use this greenhouse to grow and learn about plants. To do this I need the materials that I mentioned above.

When you were in school what was your most memorable learning activity? More than likely it was a hands-on learning activity. It is important to incorporate this type of learning into the classroom. I want to provide my students with educational opportunities that they will take with them for the rest of their life.
