My Project

Each year, my students demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for reading Scholastic News. They immerse themselves in various genres and narratives that spark their imaginations. However, I recognize that in order to enhance their learning experience, they will need more exposure to real-life situations that will connect the themes and lessons from their Scholastic News reading, to the world around them. By integrating practical applications, such as projects, field trips, and guest speakers, we can bridge the gap between literature and life, allowing students to see the relevance of their reading in everyday contexts. This approach will not only enrich their understanding but also foster critical thinking and empathy, and prepare them to navigate the complexities of the world beyond the classroom. Additionally, promoting empathy and open-mindedness through diverse perspectives will cultivate a sense of responsibility and encourage students to become active participants in their communities, ultimately preparing them to navigate and contribute positively to an increasingly interconnected world.
