My Project
Our school is an amazing family to be a part of and we are growing quickly! We have a very diverse campus with students from a variety of economic backgrounds. Our elementary artists have the priviledge of having a kiln on campus and we LOVE to put it to good use. Unfortunately, our glaze and clay are consumable resources. My classroom budget does not support restocking our supplies as fast as our growth consumes them. We go through A LOT of clay and glaze. Help me keep clay projects in our student's hands. A strong ceramics program gives students a glimpse into an avenue and skill that fosters creativity, experimentation, problem solving, and collaboration. A day with clay can capture the hearts of resistant artist and change their perspective on all that arts have to offer. Creating with clay appeals to nearly every child because it is a multi-sensory and more tactile experience than any other material.
When students have the opportunity to finish their clay creation through glazing, the magical transformation is one they never forget.
The pride they have in sharing their work with their peers and their family is priceless. Glaze creates a unique and complete wrap up experience to each clay unit. I am asking you to consider funding my project.
