My Students
We need an Apple iPod 160 and a Bose Docking Station to "GLAM UP" and organize my music library. Music is Life and it plays a vital role in my special needs students' lives, from greeting them with an upbeat song as they arrive, to easing transitions between activities, and providing academic support.
Welcome to my classroom!
I am a veteran special education teacher who loves teaching and my students. I work in a Title 1 School in Virginia. Our school is located near several major military installations and we serve many dedicated military families. My students are sweet and enthusiastic learners with special needs that include Specific Learning Disabilities, Developmental Delays, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Other Health Impairments. Many of my students have active duty military parents so they often face multiple challenges each day. That's why I try so hard to make every moment in my classroom count. My students are always engaged in learning and music helps provide unique and engaging learning experiences for my kids.
My Project
With an iPod I'll be able to import, buy, organize, play, watch, and burn different media files! I'll use the iPod to organize the music and CDs in my classroom library. I'll sort my songs into playlists, like "Greetings", "Math", "Movement",
"Numbers", "Phonics", "Transitions", etc. It will be much easier to find the song I need and I don't have to change out CDs ,very glamorous. It will be incredible to have 4000 songs at my fingertips without having to swap cds or look for cds.
Education is always changing and teachers need the latest technology to inspire their students.
