I am a third year teacher and teach first grade at a Title One school. Seventy-three percent of students enrolled at our school are on Free/Reduced Lunch. I buy a lot of materials out of my own pocket and lack art and music supplies which my students would benefit greatly from. Please help us!!
I have nineteen first grade students who come from a variety of backgrounds.
My class includes kinesthetic, visual and auditory learners, as well as students who speak English as a second language. I have students that perform below grade level, on grade level and above grade level. I cater to the individual needs of all my students every day, but need YOUR help to incorporate art and music in the daily lessons. Art and music are universal. ALL of my students will be able to draw the setting from a story, lace beads in a pattern and dance to the alphabet. This project will provide an excellent opportunity to boost my first grade students' comprehension skills, math skills, science skills and social skills while allowing them to be creative.
My Project
The art and music supplies will change my students' lives for the better in a variety of ways. These materials will provide my students with another means to learn the skills required of them in first grade. My students will use the drawing journals to write in daily. They will write and draw a picture to illustrate it. They will use the paper to draw different parts of a story such as the setting. The Dance to the Music C.D will be used daily for students to get exercise and an opportunity to express themselves through dance. My students will be able to use these supplies on a daily basis to help boost their understanding of the curriculum.
This project is so important to me because I love seeing my students so enthusiastic and eager to learn.
These materials will provide them with an excellent learning opportunity. Your donation will make it possible for ALL my first grade students to have access to art and music on a daily basis. Without your help, I would not be able to furnish my classroom with art or music materials. Thank you very much for contributing to the achievement of my first grade students.
