The town my school is in is a small, rural town in Nebraska. My students all have big dreams for themselves, but they also have a mentality that they don't get what kids in the big city have, because of where they live. That breaks my heart.
My Project
The kids in my classes are constantly comparing our school to larger ones. They get tired of sitting all day and are aware that other schools offer flexible seating. This is my response to that complaint. I wouldn't want to sit in a desk all day either. Some kids don't fit into standard size desks. Most all kids should spend part of their day on their feet. With taller tables and stools, my students can make the choice to stand, or to sit on a tall stool, rather than force themselves into a desk like they have been using in all their other classes.
