This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As I have navigated different classroom environments, I have realized most of them have the same problem in common, which is students not coming prepared to class. I have made sure to have the essentials, but it hurts to see some students missing basic materials that could further their learning and really help them with each hands-on activity.
Students should NEVER be limited to learning based on the lack of materials they own.
Rulers, protractors, and calculators are needed and give the opportunity to enhance the learning environment. I want it to be available for them to access without taking up classroom time.
When we ask a student to pull out a ruler, protractor, or calculator my project allows them to do so in just 2 seconds! No more, "Miss, I don't have a ruler."
Each desk with a seat sack could have all the materials right there and ready to go. No one feels left out and everyone has the same materials to learn from. Equal, organized, and beneficial.
