My Project

The primary goal of this project is to enhance student engagement through interactive lessons that keep them actively involved in the literature we read. By using Sharpies and Post-it Note posters, I aim to create a classroom environment that promotes collaboration and the sharing of ideas.

As an English teacher, I strive to help students understand the wonders of a good book.

It's no secret that many students struggle to connect with literature, so I use a variety of methods to enhance their learning. One of the methods I use is to have students create posters to interact and discuss the text more. The Sharpies and big Post-it Note posters will significantly enhance our classroom's learning experience. For example, I have students analyze different themes in "Animal Farm" as we read the book. Students work in groups to create a poster about one of the many themes, and then they teach their fellow peers about their theme. Students have told me that creating those posters has helped to increase their understanding and enjoyment of the book.

Our students are a diverse and vibrant group of young learners, each bringing unique perspectives and talents to the classroom. They are incredibly inquisitive, always eager to explore new ideas and ask questions that drive deeper understanding.
