Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Dual Language 4th grade students are incredible individuals with lots of big ideas! No matter if we're studying math or science, reading or social studies, these kids are full of energy and ready to explore new concepts.
Students are courageous every day as they step out in risk while acquiring their second language and also step in to help others with their strong first language.
We are located in a low income neighborhood and need your help to create research based best-practice educational environments!
My Project
In order to develop the necessary skills to thrive in the future workforce, students must learn how to take ownership of their learning experience. Many modern adults' office spaces have spaces in which physical activity is encouraged, even while working. If this is acceptable for adults, then why not for kids? By creating a classroom environment in which students can experience a variety of settings, we want to encourage children to keep their brains alert through physical movement even while completing classroom tasks.
Flexible seating will enable our 4th graders to not only learn the necessary academics, but also to reflect upon their own physical needs in a work environment.
This arrangement will also create comfortable spaces in which students can thrive while working individually and while working with their peers.
