Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My goal is to provide student council members the opportunity to become the leaders and voice of our school. This is the first year that our school has a student council committee and students are eager and ready to begin organizing and carrying out activities and service projects that will be beneficial to the school and community. Due to the fact that we are a Title 1 school, we do not have the funds to purchase necessary equipment or supplies to start fundraising. The student council committee would like to host dances and sell snow cones for profit, which is why we are asking for donations to purchase a snow cone maker. Student Council Members will learn important life skills through fundraising events such as working cooperatively with each other, social skills, and financial literacy skills. Students will learn the importance of money management and the value of turning their investments into profit. The profit that the committee receives will be allocated to give back to the community and our students. Students will also learn how to set a budgeting plan to determine how much they can spend in giving back to the community and how much money they could spend giving back to their peers at schools. Financial literacy will help the students in their financial future. Our student council committee aspires to make a difference in their peers’ lives and make memories that will last as a lifetime. We appreciate your support in advance.
