Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Help give my students the gift that keeps on giving for those mothers and maternal figures in our community here in the Bronx, NY. With the supplies listed, we will be able to create cups for gifting for the hardworking mothers and maternal figures that live in our beautiful community. Our students will help create, package, and distribute these cups as a community service project initiative. All while being able to practice their adaptive living skills. Once the cups are made, students will be going to our local library to distribute them to our community's maternal figures. Many mothers and maternal figures in our community bring their children or go to the local library themselves, making it the ideal location to not only bring our project to people, but also to bring exposure to our local library and all that they have to offer. We will also be giving away a sensory toy to the children that accompany their maternal figures to our giveaway. Our students will create the flyers to distribute within our community to advertise this giveaway just in time for mother's day!
