My students need a sturdy and interactive easel learning center to use throughout the day in whole group, small group, individual instruction and independent practice.
A few screws and two support rods are all that's holding our old easel together. We would love to have a sturdy new easel with the luxury of built in organization! We're hoping for a new easel that will be safe, reliable and tons of fun to use!
I am incredibly lucky to teach all day kindergarten to 24 bright and shining faces each day!
At 5 and 6 years old they are obsessed with learning and improving reading, writing and math skills. They love to record and share their thinking with each other. Mostly, they love helping to teach each other! They enjoy coming up to our easel to share their learning and engage in interactive reading, writing and math. The more tools and opportunities they have to record and share their thinking, the happier they are!
My Project
We are in need of a new interactive easel that will serve as a learning center, and a tool for whole group, small group and individual instruction. This new easel includes tubs that slide out the bottom that could easily store and organize our many materials needed for our learning. This could include chart paper, big books, pointers, markers, crayons, highlighter tape, erasers, magnets, clips and much more! One side is a magnetic whiteboard surface that will allow us to record our thinking, post information and use magnets in many learning activities. The opposite side includes a lined whiteboard that would be incredibly helpful in helping us to perfect our handwriting! Lastly, this easel is on four wheels, which will allow my kiddos safe and easy access to their new learning center as well as to help transition it into a whole group tool.
My 24 kindergarteners would be thrilled to receive this generous gift.
I believe learning is extremely beneficial when it is student driven. This easel would allow students more autonomy in their guided and independent practice. It would increase community building in our classroom as we would be responsible as a group for the materials. This addition to our classroom would provide more activities for whole group instruction and would provide easy access and storage for our learning materials.
