My students need timers to be able to practice their reading passages on their own.

My Students
I try to teach my students to be independent. I think it is a skill they will use not only in my Reading class but in their daily lives as they grow and mature. They love to be able to use new gadgets to help them do their work!
My reading class is a very bright group of 7 year old students.
There are students with disabilities and students who function without extra help. We push every day to learn and improve our reading skills. They are a wonderful group of students for me to be able to teach!
My Project
One of the skills we are working on this year is fluency or reading smoothly and quickly with expression. Students have their reading passages they practice with each other and then with me. I only have two timers for 20 kids to use, so they usually have to wait, or they can try to use the clock, which is difficult for this age student. If we just had a few more timers, students would fly through their checkout practices and be able to improve their fluency beyond belief!
This group of kids is ready to fly--please help us in any way that you are able.
These timers would mean freedom to work on their own for these students. There is no ceiling for them--they can soar and will...with your help.
