Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My transitional kindergarten students bring energy and joy to our classroom daily.

They enter the room bouncing and skipping, ready to embrace the day.

They are bright and curious and look forward to each new classroom experience. These young cherubs are thinkers, creators, problem solvers, and collaborators. I want to bring rich experiences and tap into their insatiable appetite and natural curiosity to learn. Providing them access to collaborative and innovative hands-on and heads-on learning in an exciting and motivating way while opening doors to the magic of school experience is essential.

What better way to help build a caring community than by creating an environment of choice, empathy, and respect for one another than through a comfortable and rich learning environment with options.

I want to give them opportunities and tools that will help them as they continue to grow and learn.

My Project

In teaching, one of the most universal languages is art. In our classroom, we have a range of languages and abilities. Painting allows all students to freely express themselves and provides them with an additional means to apply new learning. Painting also makes learning fun. Have you ever observed a child while they are painting? It makes students more excited about the topic and significantly more eager to learn.

One of the best ways to engage all students is through arts and crafts.

With access to an assortment of paints in various colors, my students can apply new learning to their art projects. Throughout the year, my students engage in learning about many things and an art activity is always included in the lesson. These activities often require paints that unfortunately, our school is not always able to provide. These paints will be used across content areas and throughout all domains.
