My students need sports equipment for recess. We have an open area that can be used for soccer and throwing a football, and a court for basketball. We just need some new equipment.

My Students

I wish everyone reading this could come and visit our 5th grade classrooms. Our students LOVE learning! They are eager to learn and share information with us. All of our students are good at using technology, but we only have 4 computers in our room.

Our classes have a range of academic levels.

We believe all students should have the opportunity to excel academically. Some of these students do not have technology at home. We have numerous low income families as well as single parent households.

My Project

Our fifth grade students work hard in class all day. When it is time for recess, they are playing with a few old basketballs and a soccer ball. Most days, there more than 25 students play with one soccer ball. It would be awesome to have a few more balls to enable smaller groups to play. (It would be safer.) We also have a basketball court, but the old balls barely bounce. Having a few to share would be very beneficial to the students! It is very important for the students to get exercise. Recess may be the only time they play outdoors! I am requesting several lower priced balls (and a set of colored shirts for teams). Give them equipment, and they will play!
