I have exceptional group of gifted students this year. Their perceptiveness and curiosity never cease to amaze me. Each day, they surprise me with their unique perspectives and the depth of their thinking. They have an incredible ability to see connections others might miss, and they approach problems with creativity and insight. It's truly inspiring to witness how they engage with the world around them. This year I am introducing a novel that I have not read with other classes, The Giver. This book promotes critical thinking by encouraging students to question societal norms, explore ethical dilemmas, and think about the value of choice and emotion. It also promotes in depth discussions on topics like conformity, censorship, and what it means to live a meaningful life.
