This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The books and literacy-based activities on this list will help my first graders, most of whom are English Language Learners, receive the practice they need to become fluent readers. While students practice reading at school, many do not have access to books at home. These books will allow me to gift each student three books that they can read at home. The center activities will keep them engaged as they practice skills taught in class on their own. As we know, practice makes progress. Help my first graders get the practice they need to progress toward their reading goals!
