Help me give my students a way to experience music. I teach a music appreciation class and the students could try different sized brass mouthpieces. Also, we have xylophones and the marimba mallets will give the students options.

My Project

I teach special education in a separate school setting. Most of the students have never played music. I just started teaching a music appreciation class and would like to build classes that provide students with a diverse musical experience. The class is going well and students enjoy music in several ways.

The items I am asking for will give students the opportunity to learn about music with a hands on approach.

The mouthpieces will allow the students to touch and produce sound like they never have before. The mallets will students a choice of playing with harder mallets or softer mallets allowing them to produce the music they want.

This class is special as music is life changing and I get to see the change in the students. The students all have SEL and/or trauma in their lives. Some days the students come into class in a bad mood and leave in a great mood. The students say how fun the class is and how they enjoy learning about music. These additional items will further enhance their learning of music.
