it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am asking for your help to purchase 1 copy for each of my students of "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" . I want to give my students the gift of a good book that would stay with them for many years to come and inspire them throughout not only their educational career but their lives,. This is that book! I teach Science and Social Studies and this book applies so well to so many of the fundamentals of what I teach such as being a citizen caring for others within the community. Also the importance of an education and a true growth mindset / resilient spirit. I am convinced this book will impact the lives of my students in the best possible way and the ripple effects of that inspiration will continue to be felt many years from now over generations.
My students are gifted students who think outside the box much like the character they will be reading about.
They are talented, resilient, fierce problem solvers and endless learners. I want them to learn to use their bright ideas not only improve their lives but the lives of others. I am excited to see how this book continues to propel them forward to do just that in the near future. I wonder how motivating them and inspiring them with this story helps shape who they become and all the wonderful contributions they make to our society through science, medicine, economics and many other areas.
My plan is to be funded by December hopefully. So that I can present the books to my students as a gift for the holidays regardless of the holiday they celebrate. Giving them the opportunity to dive right in to their book during our 2 week winter break.
