Help me give my students the materials that they need. Having a scanner will allow them to receive documents from me in their in boxes, so they can complete their assignments and receive accompanying readings or texts.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We are an inner-city school of visual and performing arts. My students live in neighborhoods where violence and crime are pretty much a part of their daily lives. They want to make a difference in the world and they want to go to college or trade school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some are in shelters, living with other family members or in a single headed household. During the pandemic they have also faced a variety of challenges.
My students are determined to be successful!
My students are great kids, many come in years behind academically and work hard to catch up. They try their best every day to improve their own and others' lives. They do this with focus and determination.
My Project
Working with students remotely, they will not have many of the materials on hand and having a scanner will allow me to scan necessary readings, texts and assignments for them to complete. It's frustrating when students do not have the necessary materials in digital form. This will allow for everything to be in one place.
Having digital copies of all class materials and assignments allows for seamless flow in students’ daily classwork.
A headset allows me to hear students clearly when they recite passages, ask questions and for individual reading intervention sessions.
