This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first-year English teacher striving to provide my students with the gift of seeing themselves in what they read. I wish to do so by providing texts that appeal to who they are, what they're interested in, and where they come from.

As a first-year teacher, there are also a number of basic supplies I need in order to help myself and my students!

Reading is a powerful privilege, that can open the door to a multitude of opportunities. Some students stray away from reading because they simply are not interested in what they're reading. Therefore, in an effort to foster a love for literature, I hope to provide my students with texts that they can relate to, escape in, and simply enjoy.
