Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing kids with big hearts. They come from low income households who have not been able to have experiences like other kids.
Many of my students are not connecting to our online google meet times.
Its not that they do not want to, its a hard time for families to prioritize schooling vs. work.
My Project
At this time of the year, we should be together celebrating all of the hard work they have accomplished throughout first grade! We will be having a virtual celebration, but not a lot of kids are able to join.
This project will give the students a chance to smile at their homes, and have an activity to do that does not require technology.
Giving my students a coloring book and crayons would make their summer! They will be able to have something to do rather than sit and watch tv or look out the window. This gift will go directly to their homes and I already can picture the smile on their faces when they receive it.
