My Project

I love that when my students see me in the hallway they call me Mrs. Art Teacher and say hello. They also ask what project they will be doing next and can't wait to come to art class. My students are special because they come from culturally diverse backgrounds and are eager to learn about the arts.

I make it my mission to choose art activities with bright colors that help bring happiness.

I also incorporate activities using social-emotional learning strategies which help bring calm, joy, and relaxation to my students. They are also enthusiastic learners.

I have requested Paper Pinwheels - White Blank Paper Pinwheels for a school wide project to be assembled. Students will explore and discuss ways to express kindness and peace through the home, school and community and have lessons in anti bullying.

They will use assorted permanent colored markers and design symbols, kindness words and peace words and embellish to reinforce peace on the pinwheels.

Students will also make kindness posters and plant their pinwheels in the school’s Butterfly Garden to reinforce peace. The pinwheels will look stunning whirling in the garden to reinforce peace.

Students will also pledge acts of kindness and learn the importance of the act of giving peace a chance.
