Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I am blessed with a different age level of students. I am teaching in fifth and sixth grades. I am enjoying teaching the students and their very different needs.

Learning in my classroom is extremely differentiated for each individual student's needs.

They learn in many different ways and technology and books are needed to help support them in their learning. My students work hard and they are eager and excited to learn. My students need visuals, supports, individual instruction and a curriculum that they can maneuver and learn the rules of reading, writing, and mathematics.

My Project

The literature I chose are stories that teach children the elements of literature. Students learn and remember better when taught through a story. Through these stories I will teach kids characters, plot, story elements and change. I have also asked for headsets which will enable my students to listen to the texts in a separate setting. Another support my students needs are simple calculators to assist them with their basic facts during a mathematics lesson.

My students will have an easier time relating to the elements of a story through these research based books.

The titles were selected from a group of educators that delved into the stories and created lessons to teach our students the elements of story. My students will enjoy the elements of story being presented in this manner.
