My Students
Imagine not having a voice or a way to communicate in today's high school setting. This is a reality for many of my students with special needs.
Students range from 10-12th grade.
My students might be limited but they CAN learn. By using the iPad and Apple pen, they will be able to communicate their wants and needs. They would also be able to interact with their peers in a more appropriate way. These devices can help them have more meaningful academic lessons.
My Project
Custom made communication options on the iPad will allow students to quickly communicate in ways generalized at home and in the community. Students will be trained on a communication system that best supports their social and educational goals.
Students will improve their social-emotional learning by using the iPad to communicate in appropriate ways with peers and teachers.
Students will not be frustrated with out dated iPads that no longer support the updates needed for the new programs. Their emotional state will improve when their frustrations are down. Socially they will feel empowered when they can communicate with friends.
