How do we prepare our kids for the future?

We need to educate them about the world around them because they will be the ones leading our world in years to come.

I have a variety of student reading abilities and they are all coming from a variety of cultural backgrounds and socio-economic statuses. My school and classroom is a place that encourages students to think critically and be problem solvers without the fear of taking a risk and making a mistake.

My Project

Having headphone jack boxes will allow my students to have more opportunities to listen to a variety of authentic literature at the same time.

Research shows that audio books have a powerful impact on literacy development.

The more opportunities my students have to listen to text, the more they will grow in their comprehension and understanding. Their learning will deepen and they will think more critically about text and make inferences about what they are reading. Students will also grow to appreciate various genres due to their exposure through audio books and it will increase their vocabulary skills and promote their love of reading.
