My Project
My students are all special needs and there is a wide array of needs from one student to the next. Like anybody else they have great moments and hard moments. They are not able to express their frustrations and communicate easily, and that is something we are always working on.
These items will allow a safe, relaxing space to relax not only their bodies, but more importantly their minds.
I focus on many things that will help my students be successful in their future and taking control of their mental health is of most importance.
This is going to allow my classroom to have an inviting area with low lighting, and a space that they can go to to relax, listen to some music, and take control of their emotions as long as they need to. I am including a soft chair, different lighting options, and their own set of headphones for music, as well as a few other decorations to help the space feel as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
My goals for this project are to give my students this space to learn how to control their emotions but to also teach them how to control them rather than taking a negative route. I focus on many things that will help my students be successful in their future and taking control of their mental health is of most importance, as mentioned above!
My students are so special and they have so many abilities and this will add to that list -- allowing them to take control of their emotions and understand they can do it as comfortably as possible!
