My students need a collection of literature books and 3 sets of 15 for group reading to increase their reading levels in 4th grade.

My Students

Reading for my students will not be a chore. Opening a book, creating a visual story line in their brains and letting themselves be engulfed in a book should not be a chore for any student.

My students are fun-loving and have a great sense of humor.

Each student is unique, and they are children who enjoy reading. This group enjoys talking about literature as well as passing on their suggestions and reviews for the book they have read.

My Project

We have asked for several book families to supplement our studies since we do not have enough books for our students. Our old classroom readers are outdated, and frankly, the students need more challenging and interesting material to read. We chose books such as George Washington's Socks to go with our Social Studies unit as well as Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief to go with our unit on myths.

This project is important because we do not have the materials to teach the new national standards that were introduced this year.

Teachers are being asked to find new and creative ways to find the materials needed to teach the lessons.
