Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a Kindergarten teacher I am tasked with creating opportunities for my students to engage with engineering practices. Luckily, my students are positively obsessed with designing and creating structures. With your help, I could increase the opportunities my students have to develop their fine motor skills and lay the foundation for tomorrow's structural innovations.
By donating to this project you'll be providing my students with the materials they need to explore STEM concepts in an engaging and enjoyable way.
I would like to use the materials to allow for more students to build increasingly intricate structures.
The marble run will help students explore cause and effect as they experiment with designs to verify whether a particular arrangement changes the speed and direction of marbles as intended. The bamboo blocks will allow my students to use literally green materials to explore "green architecture," sustainability, and sturdiness of design through play. The storage bins included in the project will provide a home for our new materials.
