My students need hands-on materials that will help them to relate mathematical concepts in a game format. We need a Geometry & Measurement Folder Game Library and more.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our students are special in many ways. Our students try so hard everyday to achieve their goals. They come to school excited to learn and thrive on a daily basis. The majority of our students come from low-income households and 97% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of our students do not have school supplies, computers at home, or an adult that is able to help them with homework.
My students are diverse learners and learn in different ways.
Many of my students need small groups with modified curriculum to learn. My students need hands-on activities to apply what is being taught to them.
My Project
These materials will give my students a hands-on approach when it comes to fractions and Common Core Math. Common Core math is a hard concept for students and even some adults to understand. I teach special needs students and they need to see math to understand it. Fractions is a hard concept for a young mind to comprehend. They can achieve it by having materials that gives them a hands-on approach.
The Fractions Hands-On kit will allow the students to visually see equivalent fractions, compare fractions, and find common denominators.
The Math Folder Games will teach math concepts in a fun way. It will give them visuals to help them understand fractions and math concepts in a different way. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
