Girls Shouldn't Have to Borrow Boys Has Been Equipment!

Help me give my students Even though these girls had to wear the boys’ worn out, dangerous catchers’ gear, they still managed to win!

My Students

I am a 6th grade teacher in a Title I school with 80 percent of our students on the free and reduced meal program. Arizona, unfortunately, does not value education. We have not gotten funding in over 10 years for badly needed supplies. As a result, kids are the ones that lose out!

Even though these girls had to wear the boys’ worn out, dangerous catchers’ gear, they still managed to win!

My girl's softball team hadn’t won a game in three years. Last year we went 5-3 and are building a program! We need a set of catcher’s gear to help our team. Our current gear is shared with the boys and worn out. Thank you so much!

My Project

When funded I will finally feel a sense of security that my girls are fully protected behind the plate. The current equipment is worn out and borderline dangerous and is designed for boys much larger than them. The school provided equipment has broken and stretched straps on the shin guards. The chest protector is for the boy's team and sized for men. Our catchers can not run without the guards sliding out of place. The helmet has a couple of broken buttons which makes it very loose-fitting. It needs constant adjustment.
